Anyone who is asked to transcribe a resume for Karl Meyer, Co-Founder and Managing Partner for Open Range Capital Partners, better have quite a bit of time and ample ink. That’s because even before this extremely talented leader, innovator and investment expert co-founded Open Range, he had a record-setting list of achievements.
Prior to Open Range, Karl was a Senior Advisor at Arcis, a successful PE and M&A financial advisory firm. For more than 15 years, he was Chief Enterprise Architect on a major industrial division of GE. There he keenly identified targets for investment and acquisition. He was often the trusted lead on evaluating the technology of potential partners and then responsible for integrating the technology post-merger.
Karl’s sharp eye for investment opportunity and technological savvy was called on by a number of other companies to help identify businesses for partnerships or acquisitions. As an intuitive leader and team-builder, he spearheaded the formation of several architectural groups who would go on to form technology accelerators and develop groundbreaking innovation.
Mr. Meyer has worked in the medical technology space. He’s experienced in governmental compliance. He has established best practices in software development. He has led DevOps definition efforts. In describing Karl, “diverse” is an understatement. “Extremely accomplished” is just a fact.
Today, Open Range isn’t the only recipient of Karl’s many gifts. He continues to spread his wealth of investment knowledge as an in-demand speaker. He sits on the boards of several technology startups. And it should come as no surprise, he has also just completed a book highlighting much of his vast knowledge of accelerators and incubators.
